Four Ways to Say “I Love You”

13 February 2008 147 views No Comment

1. For the Gentlemen: Don’t cheat on your girl. Yup, it’s really that easy!. Nothing says I love you like NOT being with someone else!

2. Gentlemen: Buy her small gifts. As women, we love to be pampered with extravagant things. But sometimes, bringing home some flowers, a scarf or even phoning in to say how much you miss us is not only welcomed and encouraged, but can make a world of difference. (Oh and I’ve noticed aunts and uncles who are big on calling each other “honey” and “sweetheart” and my favorite: de-ah. Terms of endearment are wonderful at any relationship level)

3. For the Ladies: Stop with the nagging. It’s annoying and useless. Learn to talk without whining.

4. Ladies again: Keep yourself looking good. Dress up for your man, ask him what he wants of you, etc. etc. You know the deal ladies. Let him know he’s at the center of your world.

Bonus: Great gift ideas for Valentines Day:

Flowers and Candy sent to her job

His favorite meal cooked when he gets home

Jewlery (What African woman doesnt like gold or diamonds?)

Romantic Dinner: if you go to the same iyan and eba place every week…do something different.

Bonus #2: Other pointers for keeping love alive:

Be thoughtful: If your partner mentioned that they loved a certain movie, surprise them by taking them out to see it! Shows you were listening and that you care!

Listen to each other: listening is integral to a good relationship; if you don’t listen to each other’s wants and needs, it’s pointless.

Don’t embarrass each other in public: Don’t you love the couples who bad mouth each other in public. There is nothing cute about public displays of foolishness!

And finally: Don’t go to bed angry- Don’t go to bed vexed with each other. It’s never a good look. God forbid something happens and you end up not being able to apologize for something stupid like burning the rice.
