Wale Speaks on His Move to Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group

Mixed opinions from folks regarding Wale’s move to MMG, announced earlier this month. I concur. After the jump is a video of him talking about how music under MMG will feel, what he’s learned from Ricky Rozay & his take on the Cudi beef.

Don’t know how I feel about  Wale’s move from Interscope (via Allido Records) to Rick Ross’s Maybach Music. On one hand, its a good look because he’s still on RocNation (Jay Z) and now has ties to Rick Ross, Diddys’ right hand guy. Commercially speaking, Wale is now just a degree away from hip hop titans.

Buuttt, then again….

Rick Ross struggles to go gold with his record sales.  If you’re boss isn’t doing that much better than you, how valuable is the relationship?  #dilemma.

Nonetheless, Wale seems excited about the opportunity to make music under MMG.  Below is an interview of him with Karen Civil, speaking on it, his ‘hood’ cred and the Cudi beef.

Looking forward to seeing what comes of this.  Do you remember when Wale did the gig for MTV? When he performed during the award show’s commercial breaks?  That was major exposure so I though for sure that would pan out to be something huge, but the hype has sort of fizzled since, no?  What say you, fam – why hasn’t Wale blown up?
