P.Jonathan Grounds the Super Eagles

President  Goodluck Jonathan has suspended the Super Eagles from playing soccer for two years due to their poor play in the 2010 World Cup.  The Eagles left the first match with their heads high but had it not been for the GK, that Argentina game could have been disastrous. Maradonna might have run on the field and kicked one in himself.

More after the click.

Even though folks are citing, “global embarrassment,” as the reason, there are legit charges behind the suspension.  Apparently, there has been mismanagement of team funds and allegations of corruption. Although its not funny, it sort of is comical…the President basically said: “Go sit down. Don’t even think about soccer for two years, my friends…nonesensseee (with the hiss).” smh

In all seriousness though – the suspension means no Cup of Africa in 2012, which could hurt World Cup 2014 prospects. So what do you think?  Was the suspension a right move? Unnecessary? Speak on it in the comments section below.
