Clinton-Obama Ticket Not So Crazy After All, Ey?

Some of you rolled your eyes...some of you gave me that "Are you crazy look." Some of you looked so disgusted you would have thought I presented you with smelly, rotten 8 year old cheese. But today, the idea of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on the same ticket I
mused about back in January doesn't seem so crazy after all, ey?
Well, at least not to Hillary. On Saturday, the Clintons said that although Obama may not be ready for the top position, he might do well as second in command. In fact, as
The Trail reports, the Clintons feel a ticket with Clinton on top and Obama as vice president would be "an almost unstoppable force."
Err? Excuse me...did I read that correctly? Unstoppable force? Aren't these the very same people who have been condemning Barack for being inexperienced and ill prepared...all of a sudden everything is great?
I'm sure some of you are asking why Hillary would do this. Well, let me give you a TAL- "Theory According to Lola." Barack has more votes, more money, more delegates and more momentum behind him right now. His supporters are serious about their man. Though I am not sure in what proportions, I would venture to say if he doesn't win the nomination, his voters will do 1 of 2 things. 1) Not even bother to participate in the general election (probably citing the phrases "we've been robbed!" or..."I'm done with this country's politics...democracy my arse!") or 2) not throw their support over to Hillary. Some people might even take it a step further and vote for McCain. Hillary has to do something to make those on the Barack Bandwagon happy or even if she does win the nomination, she may not win the race.
I know..crazy theory..but its worth a thought. Crazier things have happened. Bush got re-elected in '04, remember?
Anyway...what is Obama saying about all of this? The man is enjoying the contradiction and definitely using the words of the Clintons against them. "I don't understand," Obama said, playing the moment as the crowd at the Mississippi University for Women cheered this morning, "if I'm not ready, how is it you think I would be such a great vice president?" He then pointed to a CBS News interview in May 1992, when candidate Bill Clinton said his most important criterion in choosing a vice president was "someone who would be a good president if, God forbid, something happened to me a week after I took office."
"You all know the okey-dokey, when someone's trying to bamboozle you, when they're trying to hoodwink you?" Obama said to the crowd. "You can't say that, 'He's not ready on day one unless he's willing to be your vice president, then he's ready on day one.'" He finished by saying "I want everybody to be absolutely clear. I'm not running for vice president. I'm running for president of the United States of America! I'm running to be commander in chief."
Just when I was getting sick and tired of this whole race...things get a little bit more interesting.
Thoughts anyone?
